"Mumbai Meri Jaan"

Mumbai Meri Jaan”

Today is the 50th day of India’s under lockdown due to the COVID 19 pandemic situation. During this period I tried to keep myself busy with office work or next to that by watching movies.
I am very fond of horror movies. I always keep on searching horror movies that could shake me from inside. Which can give me a thrill or can say which can provide me some kick? I always thought that any of these horror movies can end the search of my fascinating words like Thrill, Kick, Stun, etc.. But couldn’t get those things ever.
One of my very old habits is to watch movies during my lunch and dinner time. As usual, mostly horror movies. Just for half an hour or maybe for 45 mins then I push myself for office work or for some other work. But today during my dinner, I started watching one of the very off leaked movies “Mumbai Meri Jaan”. This movie is based on the life of 6 people before and after 11th July 2006 Mumbai serial local train blasts.

I am not going much deeper into the movie story or how much this movie has achieved national awards or anything else. I just want to ask everyone to put themselves into the shoes of those 5 characters.1. Nikhil Agarwal- a daily commuter of the local train, 2. Rupali – A TV reporter getting married in 2 months, 3. Suresh – Computer tech and a strong criticizer of Muslims, 4. Sunil Kadam-Constable frustrated with corruption within the system and with his boss, 5. Tukaram Patil- Senior constable who is about to retire within 7 days. 6. Thomas-A street tea & coffee vendor. While watching this movie, you will feel that you are playing the role of anyone those 6 characters. Everyone should watch this movie once. The strength of the movie is the truth and the feelings of each character felt after the bomb which was portrayed perfectly.

My experience after watching “Mumbai Meri Jaan”? After watching I just wanted to shout and tell someone, not to someone, but to everyone that this is how life teaches you. What you think or what you do always may not be right. There is much more than what you think. The lecture given by Tukaram Patil to Suresh, the situation faced by Rupali, Thomas, Nikhil, and Sunil Patil and how they overcome their circumstances is the actual life of a common man. It teaches to respect others' emotions too, trust someone, true happiness, and how and when you overcome your fear.
I was stunned for some time. I felt thrilled that this is how similar my life is too. It also kicked me from inside saying that there is a lot more than what I think or what I do in my life. Always be ready for it.
